New Under the Hood

For 2022, the GR86 is back featuring more performance with a 2.4L engine instead of the old 2.0L. It develops 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. It adds 25 horsepower and 28 lb-ft of torque!

As for the transmission, drivers can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission with a manual mode or a paddle-shifted. In either case, the mechanics are geared towards driving pleasure.

Reworked Exterior Design

On the outside, the Toyota GR86 2022 has very similar styling to the previous generation, but adds a few tweaks. Among other things, its rear windows are less pointed.
